Gapski ski instructor course details

Ski Instructor Training Course: Tignes

All our training will be delivered by BASI level 4 ski instructors and BASI examiners. You will receive specific and appropriate training to ensure you know what will be expected of you during your BASI exam weeks.

Mentors: help with personal development

There will be male and female mentors on hand to all the trainees. They will be available to discuss training, the course, action plans and aid in your development during the course. The mentors will also look after of your personal welfare during your stay in Tignes.

Physiotherapy: fit and healthy

We are happy to work with Bonne Sante, a British Chartered Physiotherapy clinic based in Val d’Isere. Students are eligible to discount treatments and massages. Bonne Sante will also deliver lectures on health and fitness, injury prevention and rehabilitation. Bonne Sante will be our first recommendation if you needed any treatment to recover from any injuries and their physios will come over from Val d’Isere to Tignes for treatments.

Gapski Kit: free skis

Gapski are proud to work with HEAD skis, and you will receive a free pair of head skis when you book the course before the 30th April 2013. This will be a ski suitable for a range of skiing disciplines and  one that will be suitable for attending BASI courses.

Head Skis will be from the Head iSupershape range.

Travel:

Students will be coming from all directions so flights are not included in the price. However a transfer from and to Geneva airport on the Sunday at the start and end of the course is included. Students are welcome to make their own way to resort. We recommend that you book flights well in advance with one of the to get the cheapest deal. We are happy to help student with flight bookings in an attempt to have all students arriving and departing at roughly the same time.

Insurance:

Your own personal Insurance is compulsory for attending the gapski course, the same applies for your BASI courses.  On arrival your trainers will check that you are insured. You may use your own policy or use BASI recommended insurance. We suggest that you get quotes from several companies, here are a couple that have been used by past students:

Please note - one of our course terms and conditions is that you take out adequate insurance cover.

Other exeperiences:

Enhancing your gapski course can consist of on or off the hill activities. These activities are designed to show you other ways to enjoy life in the Alps and to make your gapski experience the time as memorable as possible! Activities and prices will be subject to change depending on numbers signing up. Activities such as Parapenting, Ice Karting, Over night refuge stays, Fondue Nights and Torchlight Descents are available. For a full list of activities available in Tignes go to www.tignes.co.uk

Work opportunities after the course:

We are pleased to work with Interski, a ski school based in the Aosta Valley in Italy. On successful completion of the course there are work opportunities with Interski. We can provide references and advice for your applications. Our input to Interski will have a bearing on your likely success for getting a job however attending gapski is not a guarantee of obtaining work with Interski.
